Betaine

Arguably the most proven feeding trigger in carp fishing.

Naturally found in mussels, shrimp, and krill.

Use at 1–3%.

Michigan note: carp already consume betaine daily through zebra mussels. This works year-round.

Squid & Krill Powders

Both leak amino acids fast.

Squid is extremely soluble.
Krill adds betaine plus colour.

Use 5–10%.

Excellent in spring and autumn.

Hydrolysed Fish Protein (HFP)

Pre-digested marine protein.

Instant attraction.

Use 3–8%.

Ideal for short sessions and pressured water.

Liquid Marine Attractants

Add to eggs before mixing dry:

  • Liquid fish protein
  • Squid hydrolysate
  • Krill hydrolysate
  • Mussel extract
  • Fish sauce (yes — Asian fish sauce works)

Use 3–10ml per egg.

Fish sauce is one of the cheapest and most effective additives available.

DMPT & Amino Acids

Advanced stimulants.

Use tiny amounts:

  • DMPT: 0.1–0.5%
  • Taurine, glycine, glutamic acid: 0.1–0.3%

These amplify feeding signals but must be used carefully.
