Soft, digestible, fast leaking.
Dry mix (1 kg):
- 250g semolina
- 200g toasted soy flour
- 150g ground hemp
- 150g mixed birdseed (fine)
- 100g tiger nut flour
- 100g peanut flour
- 50g egg albumen
Behavior: softens 8–12 hrs, excellent cold edges.
Template 2 – Balanced Year-Round Mix
Dry mix (1 kg):
- 220g semolina
- 220g soy flour
- 180g mixed birdseed
- 150g tiger nut flour
- 120g peanut flour
- 60g wheatgerm
- 50g egg albumen
Behavior: durable but active.
Template 3 – Budget Campaign Mix
Dry mix (1 kg):
- 300g semolina
- 300g soy flour
- 200g mixed birdseed
- 150g ground peanuts
- 50g wheatgerm
Cheap. Effective. Easy to roll.
Rolling method
- Mix dry thoroughly
- Add eggs slowly
- Rest dough 10–15 mins
- Roll
- Boil 60–90 sec (16–20mm)
- Air dry 6–24 hrs
Jar test overnight before mass production.
Common mistakes
- Too coarse with no binder
- Too much sunflower or linseed
- Skipping rest time
- Overboiling soft mixes
- No testing
Final Thoughts
Birdseed is not filler.
It’s structural engineering for boilies.
Used properly, it:
