If your boilies aren’t coming out right, don’t change 10 things. Diagnose the symptom, match it to the cause, then change one variable.
Splitting/cracking
- Cause: too dry, too hot, overcooked
- Fix: rest dough, simmer gently, small liquid adjustment
Soft/mushy baits
- Cause: not enough binder, undercooked, too much liquid/oil
- Fix: small binder increase, slightly longer cook, longer dry
Floaters
- Cause: trapped air, very light ingredients
- Fix: knead/rest better, adjust “light” ingredients, test cook time
Quick QA routine
- Sink test 10 baits after cooling
- Cut one open
- Check hardness after 24 hours drying
